Responsibilities
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) with certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) provide clinical services to individuals with adult and pediatric speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing disorders. Services include diagnosis, evaluation, therapy, treatment and follow-up. All clinical fellows in Speech-Language Pathology are supervised by ASHA certified SLP's.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program
Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting is required
Certificate of clinical competence in speech language pathology and knowledge of normal communication processes, development and disorders to evaluate client and implement approved treatment techniques
LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATION:
The State of Michigan does not require a license; however successful completion of the National Examination is required in order to obtain the Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA
