Qualifications:/Duties
Minimum Requirements:
BS, MS or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Must be licensed as Physical Therapist in the State of Texas
CPR certification for Healthcare Providers or must certify within 90 days hire
Must be able to perform computerized documentation
1 year rehab experience
Preferred Requirements:
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Problem solving ability
Ability to teach others
Good time management
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Work Area/Department Information:
Texas Health Southlake Hospital Surgery center assisting in treating post-op total joint replacement and other orthopedic diagnosis.
Work Hours/Schedule:
PRN coverage needed primarily weekdays and weekends between 7:30am-6:00pm, Saturday and Sunday hours vary
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
•Evaluation and treatment of post op total joint replacement patients and other orthopedic type of patients in the hospital setting and outpatient surgery setting.
Determine patient response to treatment and evaluate progress (reassessment).
•Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self management and assistive equipment.
Patient safety maintained throughout treatment
Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
