Speech Language Pathologist Part-Time

Wernersville State Hospital in partnership with Liberty Healthcare Corporation is currently seeking a part-time Speech Language Pathologist to provide consultative services. Candidates will administer hearing, speech and language, swallowing evaluations, tests, or examinations, within scope of practice, to patients in order to collect information regarding type and degree of impairments, using written and oral tests as well as other specialized testing and relevant instruments.

Evaluating administered test results and use medical or background information or test results from related-professionals to diagnose and plan treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice, hearing, and swallowing disorders. Designing, developing, and employing alternative diagnostic methods, devices and strategies as prescribed by standards of the profession.

Developing treatment plans and conducting individual or group programs. Also, providing guidance to treatment team members in carrying out individual or group programs in order to support and remediate impaired speech, hearing or language skills using traditional methods but also utilizing nonverbal instruments such as hearing amplification devices, American Sign Language, language boards and other assistive therapeutic devices and strategies.

Monitoring patients progress and adjust modalities accordingly.
Recording/ documenting results of evaluation and treatment with focus on daily skills improvement and continuity of approaches in discharge planning.

Providing training/education/educational materials regarding these functional supports, for patients, hospital staff, family members, and community support staff.

Recommending additional services as needed.

Compensation is: $50.59 per hour.
